Shrikanth P.Y. Upadya, MD, FACC

Dr. Upadya became a part of the Villages community in 2006. He is a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist, specializing in non-invasive and interventional management of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. He is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Upadya is also a member of the Central Florida Health Alliance. He has privileges at both Leesburg Regional Medical Center and The Villages Regional Hospital. Dr. Upadya also has consultant privileges at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL.

Vishnu P. Yelamanchi, MD, FACC

Dr.Yelamanchi became a part of the central Florida community in early 2000. He is a Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist, specializing in non-invasive and interventional management of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease. He is licensed to practice medicine in Florida, and is available for outpatient consultation and follow-up visits at The Villages Regional Hospital and Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Dr. Yelamanchi is a member of the American College of Cardiology, and the Central Florida Health Alliance.


Basel Al Aloul, MD, FACC, FSCAI

After graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Aloul completed his Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology training at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. During that time he was appointed a Chief Medicine resident at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Chief Interventional Cardiology Fellow at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Aloul is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography and Interventional Cardiology.

Ranganatha R. Prasad Potu, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. R. Prasad Potu recieved his medical degree from the Kakatiya Medical College, Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and his fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.


Usman Hashmi, MD, F.A.C.C.

Dr. Hashmi grew up in Buffalo, New York and completed his internal medicine, cardiology and advanced interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular training in the metro Detroit area where he was chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow. His primary focus is comprehensive and compassionate patient centered care emphasizing a unified team approach with the patient, their family and all health care providers. He believes in delivering the highest level of care, utilizing the latest in medical therapies, risk factor modification, non-invasive testing and patient education. However, when the patient is best served by invasive procedures, he possesses the tools to perform advanced cardiac interventions through an artery in the patient’s wrist, in addition to peripheral vascular interventions to treat diseases of the blood vessels throughout the body.

He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiology, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine.

Dr. Hashmi is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Central Florida Health Alliance and HCA Healthcare. He holds privileges at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, The Villages Regional Hospital and Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Toralben Patel, MD, MPH, FACC

Dr. Patel joined Cardiac and Vascular Consultants Group from Mayo Clinic Health System Waycross, Georgia. She is a fellowship-trained non-invasive cardiologist and board certified in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, vascular ultrasound interpretation, cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine. Dr. Patel has a special interest in women’s heart disease and cardiac imaging. She practices evidence-based medicine with emphasis on providing best quality of care to her patients.

Dr. Patel completed residency in internal medicine at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania and then pursued cardiovascular diseases fellowship at The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education in Scranton, Pennsylvania. During fellowship, Dr. Patel was awarded the prestigious “American Heart Association Women in Cardiology Trainee Award for Excellence”. Dr. Patel served as Chief Cardiology Fellow during the last year of her fellowship. Dr. Patel also holds a Master of Public health from UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ) School of Public health now referred as Rutgers School of Public health. Dr. Patel remains active in research, evidenced by her involvement in abstract and poster presentations.


Gretchen McCabe, N.P.

As a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Cardiac and Vascular Consultants Gretchen McCabe is responsible for physical exams, assessments of patients cardiac and vascular needs among other duties. She obtained her Master Degree for Adult & Gerontological Nurse Practitioner at Maryville University and her Bachelor of Nursing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Prior to arriving at Cardiac and Vascular Consultants

Ms. McCabe worked for 7 years as a Cardiac ICU nurse in Cleveland, OH and Indiana, PA. Ms. McCabe is a Florida State Licensed ARNP and her career her focus has been primarily cardiology and vascular needs.


J Bryant Pate, N.P.

J. Bryant Pate is an advanced registered nurse practitioner. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s Adult Nurse Practitioner program in 2012. He is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. Licenses include ARNP and RN by the Florida Board of Nursing. Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. He has worked in cardiac and vascular disease as an adult nurse practitioner for approximately 2 years. Prior to working as a nurse practitioner, RN experience included 10 years of intensive care unit work involving various roles from working bedside with patients, filling the role of charge nurse, and
in patient transport with military operations. Awards received include two army commendations, various military service awards, and multiple teamwork and patient satisfaction awards. Work ethics include being highly motivated, hardworking, and enthusiastic about treating patients with quality care and professionalism.
